Is it too late to plant Viola Tricolor?
So I have a large juniper tree that looked really terrible here. I did some research, raked the debris, put in another sprinkler head, amended the soil with compost …. planted and Viola tricolor (Johnny Jump UPS). Some areas have really good, they flourished for weeks and were from seeds planted in April. Other areas are choked by bad herbs. I therefore uneven violet flowers and yellow under the tree now. Since then, I used Roundup on weeds and weeds that grow fired near the existing violas. My question is …. Is it too late to ask another round of seed of the viola in the bare spots? Considering the rapid the first “crop” grew up in a long time ago in my area before the first frost …. but as they are self seeding I think they would need to complete flowering summer or I’m just a waste of time and money, right?
