What to do with the sunflower plants in the fall?
You do not know what to do with very large feet 5-6 dying sunflower plants in my garden – can I cut them, dig them up?
You can harvest the seeds if you wish, leave the seeds for birds, if you want if you leave the seeds for birds, some will probably fall to the ground and reseed. The stem and roots will not grow back, they are annual plants. Cut into up and used as mulch or put them in the compost pile. If you harvest them for your own use, put the seeds in a pie pan with salt and leave to sun to have "naturally" roasted, they taste better than how to use the oven.
