Some of my Double Knockout Shrub Roses seemed dead. I do not know what to do?

I have about 10 in my landscape and they are all right next to eachother, forming two rows. Sun 3 / 4 of the day. 4 seems to have not done during the winter and I replaced 3-4 last spring (Perhaps the same can not remember). Others seem to be doing very well. What's going on?

Its really difficult to answer your question without seeing the situation. Knockout roses were the breed for disease resistance and robustness. They are hardy to zone 4. Do you live in a colder climate that the zone 4? What is the ground as if you've planted? If soil is solid clay, so it's probably the problem. All roses need well drained soil. If your area is OK and you have replaced the roses are the same as last year then that is a problem soil, water probably is too.
