Best albums of Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd is a legendary band for a reason. From 1967 to 1977 they recorded five albums the greatest in history rock and these five albums. If you are a fan of rock music (especially rock music psychedelic), then you must have these five albums in your collection. Until you do, your collection is not complete.

1967 – Piper at the Gates of Dawn

First album was Pink Floyd their only album with original singer / songwriter / guitarist Syd Barrett at the helm and because of that it sounds unlike anything else the band ever recorded. If you do not know the history of Barrett then I recommend you watch him because he is really fascinating.

But you not to know his life story to enjoy this incredibly creative music that has been very influential not only on future incarnation of Pink Floyd (which would receive much greater commercial success), but also many other musical artists. To date, many are inspired by the strange music contained on this psychedelic masterpiece.

Bizarre eccentric "pop music" (I use that term in the looser ways imaginable) as "Bike" on incredible psychedelic freak-out "Interstellar Overdrive" This is an album that is truly the listener on a ride. If you are a fan of Pink Floyd, but have not heard their origins, then you must give this album a listen.

1971 – Meddle

After Barrett was fired from the band to the Dark Side Of The Moon album by the group seemed to be looking a identity somewhat. During this period, I think Meddle was their best album. It is well known for space rock epic Echoes "classic". Echoes is the title of the band's recent "Best of" collection to give you an idea of what the song represents the band's career (and He is also well known for synchronization with the so-called last segment of 2001: A Space Odyssey.) "Echoes" is actually composed throughout the second half of the album. But the first half of the album is too big. In particular, the extraordinary opening track "One of These Days "and the beautiful" Fearless ".

1973 – The Dark Side Of The Moon

Some like to say that this album is "overvalued". They are wrong. Some things are simply amazing and this is one of those things. Simply because many people like something does not mean that there necessarily has something lacking in artistic talent (although admittedly it's usually the case.)

This album is about as perfect as an album can get. Every second of it seems to be perfectly placed throughout. And yet it has not worked its to it. She manages to stay fresh and alive despite overwhelming It's perfection.

1975 – Wish You Were Here

Pink Floyd is certainly summit of their art during this period. If you enjoy the most powerful instrumental album by opening and closing cuts ( "Shine On You Crazy Diamond") you will certainly enjoy.

But then there are three songs in between and they are equally fantastic. "Welcome to the Machine", "Have A Cigar" & "Wish You Were Here" are all among the greatest songs of the group.

1977 – Animals

Animals, for me, is not so easy entering the four other albums that I listed here, but it certainly rewards the time you are able to "succeed". It was a dirty, noisy sounds that we hear on the three previous albums listed here (Piper at the Gates can not even really be compared as it from another world.)

Where's The Wall?

You may be wondering where is the wall? I'm not a big fan of the album made. It's got some great songs, but overall it seems to me very overproduced. You know how I said Dark Side Of The Moon does sound work for me? This does. It sounds like there was almost too much thought put into it (not exactly what I mean but it is difficult to convey in words why something may not get you as it should.)

Band 80 Release I find it quite disappointing compared to what they did in 70s. I really do not listen to The Final Cut, A Momentary Lapse of Reason, or 1994, The Division Bell. They do not hold my interest. But five albums offered here certainly. I highly recommend.
