I just bought a bonsai Japanese maple. How do I care for him?
I bought it not thinking about her care. I need to know what the ground should be, How To Trim, how much sun and water and whatever you think I should know.
For me to stay there to explain all the complexity and lots of art of bonsai (I could), it would take at least two pages and then it is only the tip of the iceberg! There are several tricks of the trade besides the easy part of watering and fertilizing. My suggestion for you would be at the head of a garden center bringing local gardening books such as "ortho" and buy one based on bonsai (bone – sigh) care. Bonsai is an art and is precise learned course many years to gain experience by one of the lessons of a bonsai "master" or reading literature on the subject. There are many great books there written by "masters" themselves, complete with photos of some of their greatest work.
