
The trees that are commonly known as maple trees are actually scientifically as the genus Acer. There are one hundred different twenty-five species of this tree, many of which are in Asia, with others in Europe, Africa and North America.
Appearance
Maples are in the form of trees and shrubs. Trees can grow to be forty-five meters tall, that are normally less than ten shrubs meters high. Most of the maple trees are deciduous, but there are a few evergreen species in the Mediterranean region and South Asia.
Maple flowers can be red, orange, yellow or green. The flowers are very small, but when found in large quantities in a tree may yield surprisingly colorful.
Uses
The most popular use is as ornamental trees maples, and can be seen in many homes, municipalities and businesses. More Maple fast-growing and resistant to cold, is the Norway maple. Other maples, especially species of the more unusual or smaller trees are used as specimen.
They are also widely used in the art of bonsai, because they respond well to the techniques used sheet branching and reduction, and many species of maple can be used.
Maples are obviously important as sources of wood and syrup. The dry wood of these trees is used to smoke food. Maple sugar is used to produce syrup, which is achieved by tapping the tree, then boiling the sap of maple sugar or maple taffy. Other species closely related to the Sugar Maple can also be used, but do not give much more in the form of syrup. Sugar Maples can live 300 years old.

Accepting maples, you should know that the colors you want in their species, so you know what to expect and if the color you prefer to appear in your garden. Note that when you live out of range ideal location, many maple trees tend not to make their regular colors.
