
Economic, aesthetic, dog-friendly ground for the backyard?
Posted in garden and landscape and no answers … = [Maybe my dog people can help me if you've had a similar project? So here's the deal … So we RENT I do not want to drop a ton of money on fixing up the backyard, but I want it to be as comfortable as I can for the whole family in a reasonable budget. Currently, we working with small patches of grass and dirt very compacted … many weeds that I am getting sick of shooting! What can I do to improve court? We have a laboratory that will use the yard as well, so it must be nice dog. Grass court is out of question, because I refuse to throw that kind of money in one location. Would seeding bare patches help at all, or is it a futile exercise? All ideas are welcome!
Dichondra large Works. Dichondra is a warm season ground cover that grows close to the ground. It has large leaves almost circular and when mown low establishes a thick carpet look dense. Originally a weed, it is now used in a good soil cover situations where normal grass may not do as well. It has a color light green and a cushion feel underfoot. When the area is damp, and swept the next day .. you can spread seed, and it takes weeds and crabgrass. She requires little mowing, and is the dog-Hardy. Dichondra seeds germinate after 1-2 weeks during the hot season. The first leaves that appear to be a long and narrow and does not look like true Dichondra leaves. In a week to 10 days after most of the plants are in place, let the surface dry soil in part between sprinklings. Increase Gradually, the amount of water used with each irrigation while gradually reducing the frequency.
