Perennial Plant

Annual or perennial that is the question

Do I need annual or perennial?

The crocus delights us in early spring because it dares to look through the snow and lift its face to the sun. Soon after follow tulips, narcissus, iris, lilacs … all perennials that welcome the spring with bright colors and fragrances. Perennial plants bloom at different times during the growing season and delight you with variety of color and size from early spring until late autumn. However, many perennials, such as those mentioned, bloom only for few weeks, then disappear from the landscape until the following year.

Annual plants provide a garden with flowering continues and color all summer. The "mission" of an annual report is to produce seed. Seeds germinate, the foliage grows, flowers bloom then proceeded to plant seeds. At the annual meeting of its mission complete, the whole plant, flower, foliage and Root System dies.

Some have an annual life very short and depending on when they are planted, may reseed and go through two or more cycles of vegetation per season. Other annual plants, continued growth from spring planting until the first frost in autumn.

Being given that annual plants die completely at the end of the season, they must be replaced every year. Depending on cultivar, seeds of annual plants may be planted directly in the garden or sprouted indoors for transplanting when the weather conditions and soil temperatures are conducive to growth.

Transplants per year are available each spring in garden centers and many are sold in cheap apartments containing four or more plants. Annual plants can often be closely grouped to fill your arid landscape whereas Plants Perennial often need space to expand and / or mature.

Although some perennials are more expensive to purchase than annuals in the long term, you may find less expensive because they last longer than one growing season. You can also buy bulbs groups Perennials in packs assorted very inexpensive.

Perennial flowers and foliage are also dying at the end of growing season, but unlike annuals, the root systems of perennials live over the winter and resprout with new growth in spring.

Another advantage of perennials is that although the flowers and leaves die, the branches of shrubs, perennials offer some visual appeal of a winter landscape.

Perennials May take more than one season to reach full maturity. Because perennials are propagated from deep structures, many types of perennials also need to be divided after three or four seasons to reduce congestion and maintain their vigor.

Although all perennials are able to resprout for several seasons, perennials are divided into categories of perennials perennials or tender depending the temperature zone in which they are grown.

Hardy perennials are those that can be left in the ground to return the following year. Except for Division casual and / or pruning, hardy perennials need little care once established.

Bulbs like tulips and daffodils are among the easiest plants to grow and excellent choice for a beginning gardener. Tender Perennials need your help to survive the winter. Some may in winter when covered with a layer of mulch or other protection against the weather with gardening accessories such as rose cones. Some perennials tender must be lifted and stored indoors during winter.

Thus the question Besides, you need to plant annuals or perennials? Each type of plant is ripe with "pros" and short on the "cons" if you love flowers. The best solution is to experiment by planting some of each for a summer full of color, variety, gardening and pure enjoyment!
