What is the best way to germinate foxtail palm seed?

You can germinate foxtail palms at any time that you are able to give them constant temperatures minimum they need to germinate. If the seeds are very fresh, I let them dry for a few days. Can I wash my seeds first, remove all plant debris them, as there are often inhibitors of growth around palm seed, to prevent their growing too fast. I soak for about 1 to 2 days in hot water at about room temperature, and change the water every few hours – I use filtered water for this. Soaking allows them to absorb the water they need in order to initiate germination. It can potentially help to use a solution very very mild bleach to rinse the seeds after soaking, as this will kill any so mold that may be present around the seeds. Use something like a small plastic container, resealable, with some vermiculite or perlite in them and put them in your germ cell. These materials are inert and sterile, produced from volcanic materials, and help retain the soil and air, availble from most garden centers. The temperatures required are about 32 degrees Celsius, or 88/90 Fahrenheit. Aim to keep as constant as possible, 24 hours a day. Add a little water, but do not flood your tray! You will probably find your seeds to germinate about 3 weeks. When your seeds have germinated, transplanted to Deep containers, and avoid root damage. Their roots that grow in depth, for a better growth than the earth. Using a mixture of soil well drained, including something like sand Sharp to up to one third of the combination of all. You can add some vermiculite / perlite if you want too. Alternatively, you can put some of your seeds directly prepared in the final pot, but this is the safer place.
