How should I pot Vanda Orchid?

I bought an orchid Vanda on eBay and did not realize until just now when it was delivered this Vandas should be put in a slatted basket to hang. So now I have nothing to plant and bring it in! Is there Another way to “pot” a Vanda addition teak baskets? What should I do with him in the meantime, if I get a basket? I know that I saw hanging sellers Vandas without these baskets, but I’m not sure how it was done. PLEASE HELP ASAP! I did not kill him, and it is already not so much care of the shipping process … = / I buy lots and lots of orchids for sale on eBay, and rarely have problems. But yes, it is always safer to buy one, I agree. Unfortunately, there is only one place I can get orchids in Gainesville right now, and they have problems with their supplier, so I had no choice but to buy online. This is my first Vanda, However, I did not know I needed a basket until the thing was in the mail! I’ll try the foam sphagmum, well … thank you!

~ ~ Vandaceous Potting plants will grow very well in any porous medium if it is well ventilated. Tree-fern chunks, coarse bark or charcoal are good choices. The roots must not be stifled by tight or potting medium wet. Packed in wood are preferable, but the pots can be used if drainage is good. If the stuffing in baskets, those made of teak wood is the best choice as they will last longer. If teak is not available, redwood is a good second choice, cedar and a third option. We use 3 “baskets teak for both first years after planting size, 6 “baskets for the next two years, and 8″ baskets for mature plants. Plants should be suspended so that the aerial roots are free, otherwise the roots attach to the bench or a wall and damaged when the plants are moved. Recently, Potted plants must be kept under slightly more shaded conditions until they are established. Because vandaceous Plants have large aerial roots, they do not like being disturbed by the removal of their container. Therefore, we “raise” smaller plants to larger baskets. This step-up procedure is done by soaking the roots briefly in water until they become plible. The roots are then worked through the slats in the basket larger than the old smaller basket and intact plants were placed in the trash wider. Never coil the roots through the old basket because plants vandaceous will feed better with a Root System without restriction. A few large pieces charcoal can be added to take the basket of small safe in most, or the wiring of the basket smaller in greatest accomplish the same result. This method minimizes the impact of the plant and allows the growth has continued without interruption. Since Vandaceous orchids grow rapidly with good light, water and regular fertilizing, seedlings should be grown in 3 “pots, using a mixture of fine charcoal and tree fern fiber, and jarred loose. plantings should be kept in conditions a little more shade than mature plants, but included in some programs of water and fertilizer. The moisture and good circulation air should be maintained.
