How can you get rid of / kill Mexican petunias?
I tried to herbicides, dig them up, covering the ground with a black tarp, and they come back again, anyone have a sure way to get rid of them? I hate them.
Mexican Petunia, Ruellia brittoniana, is listed as a category I invasive species by the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council. This means that it is “processing of native plant communities by displacing native species, changing community structures or ecological functions, or hybridizing with natives “. The warning applies to all parts of the state of Florida (and other regions with a mild climate similar). When Hardy, the Mexican petunia excels in wet areas invasion. Your first strategy should be immediate application glyphosate directly on each plant. You must use the utmost care because the product will kill anything green and growing so you need to paint each plant rather than to vaporize. Painting the plants will be a tedious job, but very effective. Mexican petunia is similar to the Boston fern in its ability to reproduce quickly and efficiently in most soils and light conditions.
Plant ruellia for a heat-tolerant flower

Why would you want to kill it? The flowers are beautiful. And here I am exerting so much effort to keep my petunia alive.
