Ten perennial shade for the Mid South
Do you have shade and think you can not grow anything there? Think again! There actually perennials for shade as the Mid South that it is difficult to reduce the list to just ten years. Here in the Mid-South, even the plants are considered in full sun really appreciate a little shade in the afternoon. The trick to planting perennials for shade is to choose a place that has little competition from trees have surface roots, such as maple, sweet gum, and dogwood. Evaluate Your Site

Ask your garden center or extension service to help you learn more about the plants that suit your area. Keep in mind there are ferns, vines, annuals, and shrubs that do well in shade. Generally, plants that do well in the shade have large flat leaves that help absorb light for photosynthesis and growth. They generally fewer flowers and seeds than plants grown in the sun.
