I planted two Tonto Crape Myrtle against the fence and even it looks like he's dying. Why?
I planted two Tonto Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica 'Tonto') about six feet apart against a wall (about a foot from the fence) a week ago. They both get cloudy. The soil they are planted is planted a little to the plant that goes wrong, I think it receives more water than that looks good. Leaves the factory good burgundy look like they are supposed to fall. Leaves the factory the other literally jumped from green to a pile of dry leaves on the ground in a day or two. I had to strain breaking ground where the tree was planted, but was enough depth to break up the strain. Why would you plant will do well and another identical plant die in nearly identical environments? They both started looking good.
The tree has killed more than very low. Although more common in animals, it is not uncommon in the nature. Be careful if you're around this tree. You could be next.
