When should reduce plant Iris.?
IRIS Purple flowered plants and watch as they die. Can I go ahead and cut the leaves into tail fan as I've seen in books on plants?
The factory stores up food for growth next year in the rhizome. Cut too many leaves in May hampering food production / storage affecting flowering in May the following year. Remove leaves dead or only wounded and cut the flower stems. Plants iris mother had always been a fan shape, she just had to get rid the occasional dead leaf and flower stems after flowering.
