
I Love French Wine and Food – A south-west of Red Blend
If you're in the market for fine French wines and food, why not not consider the up and coming wine region of southwestern France? You may even find a bargain. I hope you enjoy this fact-filled tour wine education in which we review a local Red Wine based on Negrette indigenous and international Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Between France eleven regions Wine South-West ranks sixth in the area. Somewhat surprising is the first wine that we reviewed from this region. The alcoholic beverage most famous product in this beautiful area that many prefer Armagnac Cognac. Parts of the nearby Bordelais do not be surprised that some local wines are good enough, yet at lower price than many of its offerings world-famous neighbor.
If you visit the south-western France, and you should really make sure to stop in the village of Bergerac, this was not the home of the famous Cyrano Bergerac who actually lived in Paris in the first half of the seventeenth century. The city is beautiful. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday. You can take a walking tour of the old city and cruise the river Dordogne from Easter to October. The Cloister Récollets was a convent and home Today the wine trade. Go a few miles south of Castle Monbazillac. The sweet wine is famous, but quite expensive.
Before considering the south-west wine and imported cheeses that we had the chance to buy at a local wine store and an Italian food store, here are some suggestions for action to eat with indigenous wines when touring this beautiful region. Start with Foie Gras with Fresh Blueberry (foie gras fresh Berry sauce). For your second course savor Piperade Basque Ham (eggs, tomatoes, green peppers, onions and ham). And for dessert indulge yourself with a Gateau Basque (shortbread with lemon cream Baker, and tart cherries Jam.)

Wine Revised Forest Royale 2004 13% about $ 13.50 (Appellation Controle Fronton)
Let's start by quoting the marketing materials. The forest is a mixture of indigenous Negrette (45%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Syrah (25%). The wine goes through improvement of fruit and tannins soften, micro-oxygenation and acid-softening malolactic fermentation. The resulting wine is full of flavors and aromas including raspberry, blackberry, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, licorice and a hint of tar. Serve it with grilled steaks, backribs, or gourmet sausages. And now for the review.
My first meal consisted of beef ribs prepared in trade parts, Moroccan spiced carrots and potatoes cooked in chicken fat. The meat was tested with Tunisian harissa, a spicy sauce very hot pepper. It was a great combination. The tannins in my mouth. I tasted black cherries, chocolate, and lots of tobacco. The wine was robust and mouth filling. He held both for fat and spices strong.
The next meal included meatballs with harissa, rice and green beans. This wine is round and moderately long. The taste of chocolate and tobacco have been fairly powerful.
The last meal was a chicken on the barbecue commercially prepared with paprika covered tibia and salad potatoes purchased at the grocery store. The wine is a good antidote to the fat. Once again the taste of chocolate was predominant.
The cheese was first pairing with Emmentaler (cheese Switzerland). The treated wine pairing nicely. It was quite round and hard. On the other hand I barely tasted the cheese. And cheese Goat's milk is really distorted the wine.
Final verdict. This wine is a winner. I expect to return to the south-west France for most wines.
