Boston ivy black spot. How to get rid of?
Boston ivy in our yard has what I think is the black spot. Much leaves have brown spots on them where the leaf died. Last year it was not a problem, but winter Last, I do not clean all dead leaves and I made the previous year. What is the best fungicide or treatment for this problem?
"The fungus Guignardia bidwellii f. sp. parthenocissi tan distinct causes angular spots form on leaves of Boston ivy in the spring and summer. A halo of dark brown or margin on the edge of the stain is usually present. In areas tanning, small black dots (fungal fruiting structures where new spores develop) can be observed shortly after the spot price reached full size. Branch dieback occurs if the disease is very severe. A close relative of this fungus attacks grapes and causes of the disease called black rot in which the stain of leaf rot of grape berries occurs. The fungus overwinters on the plant. In the spring and summer when the humidity has been placed on leaves for an hour or more, the infection occurs. Symptoms appear within one week of infection and new spores begin to form around a week later. The new spores can cause more points to form during the growing season of wet weather persists.
