How many plants adapted to climates or windy BOG-earth?
Hey! In what ways to plant adaptation to windy areas or swamp? On the Internet, there are tons on the adaptations of desert plants, but little about the adaptations windy area or swamp. If someone could help me I'd be grateful: D
Peatlands are often acidic in nature due to the fact that they are usually sprayed by rain, which is slightly acidic. An adaptation so by certain plants such as sphagnum moss or heather is having the opportunity to grow in this acid. In addition to the acidity of most peatlands are deficient in essential nutrients for healthy growth of some plants and these plants, Grasset, sundew and flytrap Venus, for example, have developed methods of trapping and eating insects to supplement their diet. Other Plants have evolved to survive in moist environments, without rotting, blueberries and birch, for example. Adaptation against the wind is generally two forms of struggle against both the difficulties of life in a windy environment. First, the tend to be thrown out of the ground. This has been overcome in some cases by changing a habit and dwarf laying near the ground. This can be seen in the dwarf birch and other plants in the tundra regions. Secondly, the tendency of wind to dry the plant. The grasses are able to curl their leaves to reduce evaporation Water stomata in the leaves, cacti have developed a different strategy, in which the stomata are set in pits or number reduced to counter the same problem. A positive adjustment that some plants have evolved is seed dispersal by wind, the most frequently observed in grasses, but also very common in a wide range of other plants, dandelion, sycamore, clematis and charms, for example. There is a start for you, I hope this helps.
