Goldfish in tropical community tank?
I have a 25 gallon tank with 2 Zebra danios, 4 spades (tiger and pink), 1 chocolate pleco, 1 twig catfish, 2 Corys, 1 red-finned shark, and 1 blue gourami … my temp is in the 72-73 degrees … My water is 7.1-ish general. .. could I get a goldfish? I do not think, but its application is … I want it to be a Lionhead, Moorish or …. comet Ya So, thank you!
No, bad idea. A fish Gold will swallow anything they can fit in their mouth, and your Danio are the perfect shape to slurp up. It may not at first, but the goldfish grow quickly and when it is capable of Danio have lunch. In addition, prefer their tropical fish tank around 76 degrees, have was the goldfish wants it to be around 68 degrees. One or the other will suffer. And the ROM production of ammonia goldfish go quickly to the tank, the more it grows. They have so prodce waste of water quality will deteriorate rapidly. I'd stick with tropical fish communities. If you want to fish I would try mollies or orange platy's, maybe some guppies. Best of luck!
